Our most recent parts acquisition came from a long time drag racer (still racing at 80). He had been collecting, building, selling and racing 409’s since 1968. The engine being offered here is one that he had a hand in. Although he did not build this offering, he was instrumental in getting parts for the engine builder and his customer. All eight cylinders have been sleeved and bore is standard……………………….. 2.75 inch Big Block mains with 4 bolt caps. At the time the sleeves were installed the sleeves were no cut for the notched truck head. After speaking with several well known 409 racers, all agreed the the eyebrows in the block were not an issue. The sleeves could be machined to the original notched truck block configuration, filled, or simply left alone. This assembly could be monster street engine! Easily made into a 500 + cubic inch torque monster. I had the former owner provide the original history of this never completed 409. “
