SEE DETAILS BELOW – PIC SHOULD TELL ALL – CT BILL OF SALE CAR…..$42,50
Finally getting around to listing this car for sale. Most folks that know me, know that I acquired two estates here in Connecticut last winter. Both were 409 guys with a focus on the 1962 model year. This Laurel Green 1962 Belair was from one of the estates. He drove it twice before he passed away. He purchased the car out of upstate New York in the summer if 2019. The following description of the car by the New York seller is as follows:
“I have owned this car since the summer of 2001, and I am the third owner. The car started life as a 3 speed manual with a straight six and stayed that way until I replaced the engine and transmission with a 409 W engine and a Muncie M20 when the car hit 100K miles. The car originated from Ogdensburg NY and still sports the original dealer logo sticker but spent a significant part of its life in Texas. It was originally owned by a pastor who relocated to Texas then back to northern NY, The second owner was a member of the congregation. The body is absolutely amazing with zero rust and all of the original panels wearing its second coat of Laurel Green lacquer paint that was applied back in ’78 and still shines nicely today. The panels line up perfectly. This car is arrow straight. There is zero bondo on this car. All the glass is original. I had the interior seat fabric professionally replaced with NOS correct fabric, the headliner is original. The carpet and floor mats are new. The trunk is properly finished. The only factory options were the radio which still works and the duel rear antennas. All the chrome and trim are original to this car and are in excellent condition. I replaced the Belair script and badges. This car has the look, feel and soul of an original car not one that has been restored. Everything works as it should. Below is a rundown of some of this car’s fine attributes”
-Complete front end rebuild including new springs front and rear.
– Sway bars both front and rear.
– Disc brakes installed in front with rebuilt rear drums
– BF Goodrich TA radials 70’s in the front 60’s in the rear on 15” wheels and NOS poverty caps
– 2.5 “ duel exhaust through Dynomax turbo mufflers
– Scat Roller Rockers
– Classic Instrument Gauges and Tach
– 10:1 Ross Pistons
– Duel Edelbrock Carbs / Offenhauser Intake
– 656 Block / 817 Heads
– Isky 270/280 Cam
After the sale of the car to the Connecticut buyer the car set in a barn until purchased by me. The old lacquer paint has suffered somewhat. I have approximately 30 hours of compounding and buffing to get the car to its present state. It is now a very nice 44 Y/O paint job. I think it is referred to as “patina”……..There are some areas of MINOR surface rust but nothing major. This is a purpose built car that is to drive and have a blast with. I have driven this car 80 miles the past 2 days and it’s the nicest driving x-frame I’ve driven. It is truly a time capsule. HARD TO FIND’EM LIKE THIS ANYMORE. Feel free to call on this one……….203-494-3424
